Abstract: In this talk I will present the application (still under development) of error estimators of finite elements analysis for solving radio frequency ablation problem. Radio frequency ablation refers to method of destroying tumor cells in the body by heating the tissue. The heat emerges from potential flux created by one or several probes. The whole process is supposed to be determined by potential (elliptic) and temporal (parabolic) equations. Due to intricate geometry and properties of the body parts is not possible to solve this problem analytically. One can approximate the solution by finite elements and do a mesh refinement according to a posteriori error estimator. My talk concentrates on error estimators for elliptic equations and maybe I will give some results for error estimators for parabolic equation.
