Abstract: The notion of outer billiards will be defined in detail along with the associated properties that one can study. The discourse will continue with the main theorem that concerns the relationship between outer billiards and polygonal tilings of the hyperbolic plane, by describing the combinatorial dynamics of the billiards map. If time permits, I will present some computer code that was used to obtain some interesting "fractal type" pictures related to the outer billiards in the hyperbolic plane.
