Abstract: In this talk, at first we consider a system of semi-linear parabolic partial differential equations. The equations are considered at the micro scale and the existence of a unique positive global weak solution will be shown. We upscale these equations from micro to macro or global scale using two-scale convergence. In the later part of this talk, we consider Maxwell and Helmholtz (elliptic) equations in the context of plasmic waves passing through metallic gratings.
