Abstract: Recently a connection was discoverd between the Laplacians of the Schreier graphs of the Grigorchuk group and Schroedinger operators with aperiodic order. This connection allows one to determine spectral properties of the Laplacians in question. We present corresponding results and discuss background. (Based on joint work with Tatiana Nagnibeda and Rostislav Grigorchuk).
