Abstract: I will give a brief introduction on Kleinian groups, the dynamics in hyperbolic manifolds and limit sets of Kleinian groups. Then, I will explain how Patterson-Sullivan measures are used in dynamics and dimension theory of Kleinian groups. Time permitting, I will finally touch upon the case when the transient part of dynamics becomes thick in measure or even (Hausdorff and/or Minkowski) dimension.
The colloquium is preceded by tea from 16:45 in the Resnikoff Mathematics Common Room, Research I, 127.
