"Hubbard trees for post-singularly finite exponential maps"

Date: Tue, December 13, 2016
Time: 14:15
Place: Research I Seminar Room

Abstract: This talk is based on the bachelor's thesis of Michael Rothgang, who is a former member of the dynamics group at Jacobs. The overall goal of the talk is to present his strategy for constructing Hubbard trees for post-singularly finite exponential maps and to point out at which steps of the construction I still see work to do. Before coming to the main topic of the talk I will summarize necessary background material on dynamic rays for exponential maps and their landing properties as well as external addresses and itineraries, which are concepts from symbolic dynamics.
