Abstract: This will be an introductory talk on one of the key issues of current holomorphic dynamics: combinatorial rigidity is the question whether one can distinguish different dynamical systems in combintorial terms, local connectivity of the Mandelbrot is known as one of the most profound questions in (holomorphic) dynamical systems (pioneered by Douady and Hubbard, by Yoccoz, Lyubich and coauthors), and fibers are the right concept. We also discuss the Rational Rigidity Principle that we see as one of the key directions of our new research projects: this is a perspective to generalize these issues from the context of polynomials to rational maps.
