Abstract: The class of periodic operators includes discrete and continuous Laplace operators, biharmonic operators, various wave operators, infinite periodic matrices, and operators acting on discrete periodic graphs, meshes, etc.. The spectrum of periodic operators consists of so-called dispersion curves. We discuss how to obtain these curves explicitly.
