Abstract: In this talk I will try to explain what the Local Langlands Conjecture (actually a theorem by the work of Harris-Taylor and Henniart) says, and I will discuss an ongoing project aiming at giving a local proof of the statement that the LLC is `realized' by the cohomology of the Lubin-Tate tower.
