Abstract: Normal MTs for curves and surfaces have been introduced at the beginning of this century (year 2000) and are still not widely explored and of both theoretical and practical interest. In this talk, we will use adaptivity as a tool for providing us a globally convergent normal MT for curves with optimal detail decay rates and nice visualization properties, i.e., smooth normal re-parametrization of the limit curve. Some other possible generalizations to the standard theory will be discussed, too.
