Abstract: To begin with, the Fatou coordinates of a holomorphic function in one variable with a single parabolic fixed point will be described. Then, a theorem on the existence and uniqueness of Fatou coordinates for holomorphic functions satisfying precise bounds will be stated, and a proof by Shishikura will be explained.
