"Richard Thompson's groups and their relatives"

Abstract: About 50 years ago, R. Thompson introduced three groups (called today F, T, and V) that have some remarkable properties: they are finitely presented infinite groups of infinite dimension. In addition, T and V are simple (hence early examples of infinite finitely presented simple groups).
