Abstract: If we want to benchmark the shallow water analog of Hoskins' semigeostrophic equations, we have, in balance model coordinates, to invert a fully nonlinear elliptic Monge-Ampere operator. In this talk, we construct fixed point problem and prove that the map is a uniform contraction.
