Abstract: The Atlas of Lie Groups Project is an organization of over 20 mathematicians who have been developing a software system for solving a variety of problems in the structure and representation theory of real reductive algebraic groups. The Project has announced the successful creation of a computer algorithm for deciding when a given infinite-dimensional irreducible representation of a reductive group is unitarizable.
The colloquium is preceded by tea from 16:45 in the Resnikoff Mathematics Common Room, Research I, 127.
