Abstract: Stochastic superparametrization is used to take into account the effect of subgrid dynamics on coarse grid models without making expensive simulations on a fine grid. We discuss how to split the primitive equations into two systems: a coarse system, and a subscale system. We solve the subscale system explicitly and provide an exact form of terms connecting the two systems. We discuss also how to set the stochastic parameters of the systems.
