Math 118B - Differential Equations

Syllabus


Required Textbook:

Grading Policy:
The final grade will be determined by
Homework33 1/3%
Midterm Exam33 1/3%
Project33 1/3%
There will be five or six homework assignments which will be at least partially graded. The midterm exam is closed notes and closed books; Graphing and simple programmable calculators are allowed.

Student Projects:
Instead of a final exam, you will have to complete a computational and/or analytical project related to the class topics. A list of possible topics will be given during the first few weeks of classes. Group work is encouraged, however each member of the group must turn in an original project report. The deadline for completion of the projects is Friday, June 8, and is not negotiable. The results will be presented in class during the last week of classes.

Office Hours:
MWF 2:00-3:00.

Discussion/Computational Lab:
W 6:00-8:00 (approximately) in PS 390 (if computational projects are due) or in PS 382 (otherwise).
