Conference in honor of Professor Raymond O. Wells, Jr.
At Jacobs University Bremen
December 1-2, 2005
Organizers: Ivan Penkov, Dierk Schleicher, Michael Stoll
Raymond O. Wells, Professor of Mathematics at Rice University for
many years, is one of the founding fathers of International University
Bremen. He served as Jacobs's first Vice President for External Affairs
and as Professor of Mathematics. On June 30, 2005, he retired from
his position as Vice President, just after his 65th birthday, and was
appointed Distinguished Professor of Mathematics. He continues
to serve on the board of the IUB Foundation of America.
This conference honors Ronny's long career as a mathematician,
featuring a small but very distinguished selection of friends who
shared mathematics with Ronny along his way.
