Progress in Mathematics for Communication Systems
Our summer academy is designed to host about 30 participants and 15 contributing scientists. As an international institution, Jacobs Universitys activities normally attract an international student and researcher population. We expect approximately 75% participation from foreign countries. The minimally expected education of participants is a Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. However, we expect the core of participants to consist of doctoral candidates and post-doctoral students and young developers from industry. The selection process will assure a sound balance between participants from the disciplines.
Young researchers from industry are welcome to participate in our summer academy. Industrial partners such as Infineon, Munich and Villach, and Siemens, Vienna, have also already expressed their interest to contribute with own presentations.
Candidate applications will be collected and screened by the organizers and a local advisory board. It is our strong wish that admitted graduate students and young postdoctoral fellows actively participate during the Summer School by presenting their own research either in an oral presentation or during a poster session. Students will be selected based on their expertise in the field and on their interest and willingness to actively participate in the Summer School (poster presentation, talk on their own research).
